# Frequently asked questions

Answers about the LANTITE, practice tests, study lessons, billing and your account.

## Getting Started

New to MyLantite? Set up your account, learn your way around, and take your first test.

### What is the LANTITE, and does MyLantite cover both parts of it?

The LANTITE is the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education - a test most people training to become a teacher in Australia need to pass. MyLantite is built around it, along with similar standardised literacy and numeracy exams.

It has two components, Literacy and Numeracy, and MyLantite covers both. You can subscribe to just the one you still need, or to both together - see [Pricing](/pricing) for how the plans are split.

Each component gets its own full-length practice tests, its own topic-by-topic lessons, and its own readiness score, so studying for one doesn't get mixed up with the other.

### Does MyLantite guarantee I will pass the LANTITE?

No - and we'd be wary of anything that claims otherwise. MyLantite is an educational tool, not a guarantee.

How you go depends on a lot of things beyond any single product: how much you study, your starting point, and the exam itself on the day. What MyLantite gives you is realistic practice, focused lessons, and an honest readiness score, so you go in knowing where you actually stand rather than guessing.

Full detail is in our [Terms of Service](/terms#no-pass-guarantee).

## Practice Tests

Starting a test, the timer, question tools, and submitting your attempt.

### Does MyLantite have a free trial before I pay for anything?

Yes. The trial runs for a fortnight and covers both Literacy and Numeracy - it is not a cut-down preview of one or the other.

It is the same product you would get on a paid plan: full practice tests, full lessons and your performance analytics, not a limited teaser set. See [Pricing](/pricing) for how the trial sits alongside the paid plans.

### How realistic are MyLantite's practice tests compared to the real LANTITE?

They are built to run under exam conditions - full-length sections, a real timer that keeps going even if you look away, and the same split between a calculator and a non-calculator numeracy section that the real test uses.

We will not tell you they are a guaranteed match for the exact questions you will see on the day - no practice material honestly can be. What they give you is realistic timing pressure and topic coverage, plus a detailed explanation on every question afterwards, so you learn from a wrong answer instead of just seeing that it was wrong.

### Does a MyLantite subscription include study lessons, or just practice tests?

Both, on the one plan - there is no separate purchase for lessons. A subscription covers the full practice test library, the topic-by-topic lessons for that exam, and your performance analytics together.

You can move between the two freely: work through a topic's lessons, then test what stuck with a practice set on the same topic, in either order.

## Subscriptions & Billing

Trials, plans, payments, invoices, and changing or cancelling your subscription.

### Is there a free trial, and do I need a credit card to start it?

Yes - every MyLantite plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and no credit card is required to begin.

The trial gives you full access to whichever plan you choose, so you can sit a full-length practice test, work through lessons, and see a real readiness score before you decide anything.

Because no card is on file, nothing is billed automatically when the trial ends. If you want to keep going, you choose a paid plan yourself; if you don't, the trial simply lapses.

See [Pricing](/pricing) for what each plan costs and what it includes.

### What is the difference between the Literacy, Numeracy and Both subjects plans?

Literacy and Numeracy are sold as separate single-subject plans. Each one covers every practice test and study lesson in that subject's bank.

The Both subjects plan puts Literacy and Numeracy on a single subscription, at one combined price, rather than paying for two separate plans.

Which one makes sense depends on which parts of the LANTITE you still need to prepare for. If you're only sitting one component, a single-subject plan covers it; if you need both, Both subjects is the simpler option.

Billing periods (weekly through to half-yearly) and exact prices are on the [Pricing](/pricing) page, and they're the same regardless of which subject or combination you choose.

### What's included in a MyLantite subscription?

A subscription covers three things for the subject (or subjects) you've chosen: full-length practice tests, topic-by-topic study lessons, and a readiness score that tracks how you're improving over time.

Practice tests are built to match the real format of the LANTITE, not a random pool of questions. Lessons break each topic down individually, so you can study the specific areas a practice test shows you're weaker on rather than starting from the beginning every time.

The readiness score pulls all of that together into a single number, so you always know roughly where you stand rather than guessing from a handful of past results.

Exactly which practice tests and lessons are included depends on whether you're on a Literacy, Numeracy or Both subjects plan - see [Pricing](/pricing) for the breakdown.

### Can I cancel any time, and do I keep access until the end of what I've paid for?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, and it takes effect at the end of your current billing period - not immediately.

That means you keep full access to everything your plan includes until the period you've already paid for finishes, and you won't be charged again after that. There's nothing further to do once you've cancelled; the subscription simply doesn't renew.

> Cancelling doesn't retroactively refund the time already paid for - see the next question if you're asking because something's gone wrong, rather than because you just no longer need the plan.

### Do you offer refunds if I've already paid?

Generally, no - not for unused time on a plan once you've paid for it. The 14-day free trial exists precisely so you can confirm MyLantite is right for you before you pay anything, and no card is needed to take it.

That doesn't affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If there's a major failure with the service, you're entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for the reduced value; for a failure that isn't major, you're entitled to have it fixed within a reasonable time. We may also grant a goodwill refund at our discretion outside of those situations.

Full detail is in our [Terms of Service](/terms#refunds). To raise a request under a consumer guarantee, email support@mylantite.com.au with your account email and a description of the issue.

## Account & Login

Signing in, passwords, passkeys, and your signed-in devices.

### How can I sign in to MyLantite?

With an email address and password, or with a social account - whichever you used when you signed up.

Google and Facebook sign-in are available by default; Microsoft sign-in is also available where the site has it turned on. Either way, you land in the same account.

The first time you sign in from a browser we don't recognise, we send a short email code to confirm it's you. That's a one-off check for that browser, not an extra password.

### What happens if I forget my password?

Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page. We'll email you a link to set a new one.

That link is only valid for 60 minutes, so use it soon after it arrives rather than saving the email for later. If it expires, just request a new one the same way - you can do this a few times, though requesting a lot in quick succession will briefly be rate-limited.

If you originally signed up with Google, Facebook or Microsoft rather than a password, use that same provider's "Continue with..." button instead - there's no MyLantite password to reset.

### Does MyLantite support two-factor authentication (2FA)?

MyLantite doesn't use a code-generating app on your phone, and it never texts you a code. Two other checks protect your account instead.

When you sign in with your password from a device we don't recognise, we email a six-digit code to your account's address, and the sign-in only goes through once you enter it. That device is then remembered for 30 days.

You can also add a passkey for phishing-resistant sign-in. It uses your device's own fingerprint, face unlock or screen lock instead of a password, and you can add one from your account's security settings once you're signed in.

### Does MyLantite support signing in with a passkey?

Yes. A passkey lets you sign in with your device's own fingerprint, face unlock or screen lock, instead of typing a password.

It's optional, and you can add one from your account's security settings once you're signed in. Passkeys are tied to the device you create them on, and you can add more than one - your phone and your laptop, for example - or remove one at any time.

## Social & Challenges

Friends, leaderboards, head-to-head challenges, XP, streaks, and achievements.

### Do I have to add friends or compete with anyone to use MyLantite?

No. Every social feature - friends, leaderboards and challenges - is something you opt into, not something that happens to your account by default.

You can study entirely on your own: take practice tests, work through lessons and track your own progress without ever adding a friend. The social section is there if you want a bit of competition or company, not a requirement to get value out of the product.

### Does MyLantite have any social or competitive features?

Yes, a few, all optional. You can add other MyLantite users as friends, compare your average test score against them on a Friend Leaderboard, and send a direct one-off challenge for either of you to beat the other's score on a test.

There is also a Global Leaderboard, XP and levels for study activity, a daily streak, and a set of unlockable achievements - more about personal motivation than head-to-head competition.

## Privacy & Your Data

What we store, what you control, and how to close your account.

### Is my personal information safe with MyLantite, and where is it stored?

Your account details, study activity and billing records stay in Australia - our database, application servers and file storage are all hosted with our cloud infrastructure provider in its Australian region.

Card numbers never touch our servers at all; they go from your browser straight to our secure payment processing gateway, which is the one service that genuinely sends your personal information overseas. Two other services touch your data as part of their own worldwide operation - a third-party sign-in provider, if you use one, and the content delivery network your requests pass through - rather than storing it in a country we can name. See "Overseas disclosures" in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy) for the full detail.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers or feed your data to third-party analytics tools.

### If I sign up, can I have my account and personal information deleted later if I change my mind?

Yes. Email support from the address on your account asking to close it, and we action closures within 7 business days.

Closing deactivates your account and removes your personal information from our system, except where we are legally required to retain it - tax invoices, which we keep for five years under Australian Taxation Office record-keeping rules, and nothing else. There is no self-service delete button; the email request is the only way. See "Deleting your account" in our [Privacy Policy](/privacy) for the full detail.

### I've found a security vulnerability in MyLantite - how do I report it responsibly?

Use the disclosure address we publish for exactly this, rather than the ordinary support queue.

1. Open /.well-known/security.txt in your browser. It is a plain-text file that follows RFC 9116 and starts with "# MyLantite Security Policy".
2. Read the Contact line. That address is the live one, and it is deliberately separate from the general support address. As shipped it is hello@mylantite.com.au.
3. Email it with what you found, the exact steps to reproduce it, the impact you believe it has, and any proof of concept you have.

The same file also carries an Expires date (RFC 9116 requires one), Preferred-Languages, a Canonical line pointing at the file's own address, and a Policy line pointing at our Privacy Policy at /privacy.

> Please do not open a support ticket or post publicly with the details first. A ticket lands in the general help queue, which is the wrong audience for an unpatched issue, and the thread is not treated as confidential in the way a disclosure report should be.

A couple of honest limits. We do not currently publish a PGP key, so there is no Encryption line in the file and no encrypted channel to use - keep the first email brief if the detail is sensitive and ask how to send the rest. There is also no acknowledgements page and no bug bounty programme.

The file needs no account and no sign-in, so you can send a report without being a MyLantite customer.
